I have observed Emmy-award winners less enthusiastic than the Roger Dubuis staff was in the recent years — and it’s not just me, I’m sure: if you were to devote any moment, however brief, conversing with them about their huge new partnership, you can tell something super exciting,”a new chapter” as they call it, was about to start… And now, at last, begin it did, with the announcement of Roger Dubuis excalibur replica watches becoming official associate of Lamborghini. A brand new development of such magnitude naturally brings with it new watches and, what’s better, now a new caliber also!
Since the launch event is still occurring today and we’ll prepare a hands-on look in the two versions of this Excalibur Aventador S once we have enough images and experiences to share, but we should, by all means, do a fast run-down on what this new venture implies, how it’s likely to unfold, and also have a look at the basics of the 2 watches as well — though, again, in the time of writing this I’m still excited about seeing and interrogate them up close.
The (somewhat confusing) reality of the matter is that today’s announcement really mentioned Lamborghini Squadra Corse as Roger Dubuis’ partner, that is Lamborghini’s motorsport division, while the watches are called following the flagship”raging bull” road car version of our period, the Aventador S. This happened for a number of reasons which shortly won’t matter 1 bit, as Roger Dubuis excalibur aventador s prix replica watches ‘ partnership with Lamborghini is a properly thorough one that will include all Lamborghini, not just its motorsports branch.
The similarities between Roger Dubuis excalibur skeleton fake watches and Lamborghini are uncanny, and you truly don’t need to dig up background books or digest made-up tales to get to their synergies: equally brands produce around 3,500-4,000″bits” a calendar year, both attempt to combine high-tech engineering together with, ahem, flamboyant design, both focus on two product lines for today (Aventador and Huracán, Excalibur and Velvet), and both belong to a significant group (Volkswagen and Richemont) by which, somehow, they nevertheless appear to be in a position to do whatever the hell they want.
On this note, allow me to cry-out and say how extremely rare it’s been to find a watch brand exploit a venture with a significant vehicle maker. Hublot has been pretty much the only one to really produce and keep momentum with their Ferrari venture, finally demonstrating the watch world it can really be achieved; so I’d very much like to see Roger Dubuis show us the way the yet-more-niche brand can take advantage of these a remarkable chance. It isn’t hard to envision Lamborghini being enthused about a new partner also, after Blancpain has largely and disappointingly failed their opportunity with the Sant’Agata-based carmaker.
The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Aventador S is the very first watch devoted for this new venture, coming in two variations, available in limited runs of 88 and 8 pieces, respectively. For some reason they’re both called precisely the same — Excalibur Aventador S — even though differences in their use of materials for both the instance and motion mean they aren’t just two color variants of the exact same thing.
The Roger Dubuis easy diver clone Duotor movement is a nerd-fest designed to coordinate with the awe-inspiring complexity of a Lamborghini engine, no less. Two equilibrium wheels have been installed at a 90° angle — mimicking the V-layout of those cylinders in an auto engine. The equilibrium wheels are independently tuned so one runs faster and the other slower than a perfect 0 seconds daily speed and are connected using a differential (such as the back wheels of a car) so their prices are phased out.
Given the opportunity, some time into our chat I asked Gregory if he had considered adding a chronograph — not only because it traditionally goes with the car motif, but because the watch-nerd in me was curious how much this double-balance movement could be altered. His reply ended up surprising me a little: because Roger Dubuis easy diver chronograph replica watch has several dozen calibers it does not use, which wide range incorporates several conventional chronograph calibers, he said he’d have found it”easy” and”boring” to put a chronograph onto the back of this movement.
Sounds like a bold statement, but I could see his real excitement and pride in this jumping seconds, something which has been a first for Roger Dubuis and, again, something he got to figure out and engineer into this remarkably complicated, double-balance motion. He also noted customer opinions regarding the Quatuor, which, although praised (and setup ) to be accurate, never had a seconds hand — and conventional, sweeping seconds hands aren’t exactly accurate either. These parts of comments made him need to go for the jumping seconds, so as to ensure that the accuracy of this Duotor movement can be tracked with ease — speak about an engineer proud of his work!
Having had the chance to briefly play with the Excalibur Aventador S, I can, ahead of a hands-on article, say it seems leaps and bounds better in every way than it does in the official pictures. The official renders allow to get an okay-ish grasp of this unusual layout of this motion, but they say nothing regarding the three-dimensional construction that’s really much easier to see in the metal. The various kinds of Geneva Seal-compliant finishings also add a fantastic deal to what’s a rather spectacular design. More about the cool quirks and attributes of the Duotor movement, along with highly detailed macro pictures, to come shortly.
Roger Dubuis has only set off on what is a 5-year signed venture with Lamborghini — with not much if anything to keep them from continuing beyond this time frame. This should give plenty of time to both parties to make more bits like this Excalibur Aventador S, watches which are designed from the ground-up as brand new and round the know-how and design DNA of the brands
